Residents and guests gathered at Splash Water Park to celebrate the annual ‘Nocatee A-Glow’ Christmas Party December 7th with a variety of live-entertainment. There was a ceremonial tree lighting, Santa & Mrs. Claus meet & greet, ‘Letters to Santa’ station, horse drawn wagon, inflatable slides, holiday movies on the lawn, light show and much more.
To kick off the festivities, the Landrum Middle School Band, Nease High School Chorus, and the Ponte Vedra High School Band entertained residents from 5 – 6:30 p.m. with classical Christmas music. Inviting area schools is a unique way Nocatee incorporates it’s own community into event entertainment, as many of the Nocatee students who attend these area schools enjoy performing for their fellow community members in a large event setting that attracts their parents, as well as the younger children.
After the school concert, the Crosswater Church Band took the Splash Water Park Stage to entertain guests on the event lawn, where Christmas carolers and residents gathered for the countdown to the lighting of the community’s Christmas tree. On the other side of Splash, Nocatee families gathered to meet and take pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus, while others mingled in front of the hot chocolate bar. Other activities included the designated ‘Letters to Santa’ station where kids were able to preview holiday cookies, normally reserved for Santa, while penning their letters to later drop off in Santa’s very own Nocatee headquartered PO Box.
There also were horse drawn, Christmas-themed wagon rides that took residents around the front of the Splash Water Park a nd through the front of the Farmers Market Field. Residents & guests also were able to enjoy the Nocatee Zipline, open and operating for those interested in getting a one-of-a-kind, bird’s-eye view from 30 feet above the beautifully decorated Splash Water Park.
The Christmas Party is just one of the holiday events the Nocatee Staff organizes every December. Residents already are eagerly anticipating other favorites – like the ‘Pancake Breakfast with Santa’ and Adult New Year’s Eve Party – both happening later this month.
