Travel Back In Time at the February 2015 "Living History" Nocatee Farmers Market

Written by Nocatee Community | 2/17/15 2:59 PM

The year is in full swing and February is already winding down  but not before this month's Nocatee Farmers Market, sponsored by AAA, on Saturday, February 21st! The "Living History" themed market will take attendees back in time as the 1740 St. Augustine Garrison re-enactors are making a stop at the Nocatee Town Center.

Nocatee's neighboring city is filled with legacy and intrigue and the colonial life re-enactors will offer glimpses of what life was like for St. Augustine inhabitants during the historic Spanish colonialization. This unique market will also include military demonstrations with musket firing, colonial vendors, and more.

From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Nocatee residents and community guests are invited to attend this free family-friendly event.

Additional entertainment will include face-painting, bounce houses, and a centrally-located kids craft station. As with every Nocatee Farmers Market, there will be more than 80 local vendors offering a wide variety of goods, including organic produce, honeys, hand-crafted jewelry, baked goods, herbs and spices, local restaurant favorites (some in food truck form), and more! Each monthly Nocatee market features new and regular local farmers, crafters, artists and food vendors.

Held on the third Saturday of each month, the Nocatee Farmers Market has become a highly anticipated event that draws attendees from both Nocatee and the surrounding communities. As the popularity of farmer’s markets has grown (there are now more than 8,000 farmer's markets in America today), the customary collection of produce stands has expanded and evolved to include new offerings and schedules to appeal to diverse audiences.

Nocatee Farmers Markets and many others are loaded with activities that are interactive and fun for whole family. Want a snapshot of the Nocatee lifestyle? Check out the YouTube channel for event recaps and a resident’s unique and involved perspective.
