Variety is the Spice of Life in Master-Planned Communities

It used to be that one master-planned community looked very much like the other.  And within any given community, the homes and neighborhoods were often so similar as to be virtually indistinguishable, with rows and rows of identical homes lining identical streets.

Not so in today’s master-planned communities. Gone are the days of cookie-cutter homes and carbon-copy neighborhoods. Today’s new home buyers enjoy the luxury of choosing from numerous master-planned communities, each with its own distinct character. From quaint coastal villages such as Seaside, Fla. to rustic desert ranches like Mountain’s Edge in Nevada, master-planned communities are available to suit just about any style, taste or budget.

Unique Neighborhoods

Even within a particular master-planned community, home buyers will find they can choose between a variety of different neighborhoods.

“Unlike older traditional cities that developed haphazardly over time, master-planned communities are planned right from the start,” says Roger O’Steen, chairman of The PARC Group, developer of the Nocatee master-planned community in Ponte Vedra, Fla. “As a result, master-planned communities can carefully craft their neighborhoods to appeal to buyers seeking specific home designs or lifestyles.”

Nocatee, for example, currently offers over a dozen different and distinct neighborhoods, with new neighborhoods opening nearly every year. Each neighborhood has its own unique character: Seeking a family-friendly neighborhood with lots of kids and a close-knit, neighborly feel? Nocatee’s Twenty Mile area and Coastal Oaks at Nocatee both fit the bill. Prefer a more urban lifestyle? Daniel Park at Town Center and Siena at Town Center offer smaller homes within walking distance of the shops, restaurants and services at Nocatee Town Center.
