According to a recent study of homebuyers by Realtor.com, only 13 percent of buyers are ready to purchase a luxury home, with another 26 percent considering it. With higher price tags come greater expectations in a home.

Amenities and features on luxury homebuyers’ wish lists include:

A chef’s kitchen - even if you don’t cook, a chef’s kitchen can act as entertainment hub during family dinners or more formal parties. Induction cooktops, although not exactly new, offer cooks all the benefits of a gas range without any of the disadvantages

Views - from water to the mountains or cityscapes, 44 percent of respondents considered a view one of the most important features. New luxury homes available in the historic Twenty Mile  Nocatee communities will back up to lakes or nature preserves, and exude an old-Florida feel.

Square footage - although size is important to 38 percent of luxury buyers, another study revealed square footage could be sacrificed for features including a shorter commute and a desirable location

A sweet master suite - for 36 percent of respondents, a large master     suite is key. These suites go beyond a spacious bedroom to include   luxurious bathrooms with stand-alone tubs for soaking and open, spa-like   showers.

Resale value - 62 percent of respondents feel that resale value is very or   extremely important. According to a recent report by real estate advisory   firm RCLCO, master-planned communities are believed to a smart   investment for homebuyers.

Technology - another top priority for high-end buyers is intelligence in   the form of tech. These buyers crave smart homes that they can control   remotely via iPads and other devices. From remote control of locks and   security systems to thermostats and other features, many new homes in   Nocatee are built with Nexia Home IntelligenceTM or ‘smart   home’ Interactive HomeTM  technology.
