The Florida Department of Transportation will soon begin construction on a new flyover at US 1 in Nocatee. The flyover will cross over US 1 and the Florida East Coast Railroad. This new roadway will shorten the drive between Nocatee and I-95 by three miles and alleviate east/west traffic delays. It should provide a much quicker route for Nocatee & Ponte Vedra Beach traffic to and from I-95.
The new road will tie into existing Valley Ridge Boulevard west of the entrance to Austin Park. By shortening the distance & traffic delays for current area motorist, this new flyover is not expected to cause any disruptions or increases in traffic flow.
The $13 million project is expected to be completed in late 2014.
