Nocatee has announced plans to add four regulation-sized pickleball courts and a sand volleyball court this summer as part of our current amenity expansion project! New community amenities in this area also include the junior Olympic-size competition pool and multi-purpose activity courts. All will be located on the former Farmer’s Market Field, across from the Splash Water Park parking lot. In addition to these athletic facilities, the Nocatee Aquatic Centre Complex (home to the new competition pool) and the Splash Water Park expansion are all expected to be completed by the Summer 2014 Swim Season. The waterpark expansion is slated to open by Memorial Day and the competition pool is scheduled for early July.
Pickleball courts are an especially exciting addition for Nocatee’s largest interest group, the Coastal Pickleball Group. The two hundred member group currently sets up temporary courts in the Splash Water Park parking lot every weekend. Bob Dean, club president and Nocatee resident, is passionate about sharing his pickleball expertise, and is most excited to train even more residents how to play on the new courts. “Through the Coastal Pickleball Group and the Nocatee Summer Day Camps, we have introduced over sixty people to this fun sport, designed for people of all ages and various athletic abilities.” 
Another exciting addition, the new sand volleyball court to be located in front of the Pickleball courts. This new volleyball court will replace the former Splash Water Park volleyball court, as that space will soon be the site of the new children’s spray ground.
